Josie attended law school in Missoula, Montana, when, between her second and third year of law school Josie clerked for the 12th Judicial District Court in Havre, Montana. This opportunity allowed Josie to work closely with the Honorable Judge Snipes Ruiz and experience firsthand how effective lawyering can change the trajectories of people’s lives.
After graduating Josie was employed as a Deputy County Attorney at the Cascade County Attorney’s Office in Great Falls, Montana. She mostly handled felony criminal cases and represented the Department of Health and Human Services in Dependent and Neglect civil cases. Josie accepted this position to make a difference in people’s lives and give a voice to those who did not have one. Although Josie made a difference in children’s lives and even won an award for her work, she ultimately wanted to change people’s lives in a more personal way.
Josie was drawn to Silverman law because team and clients come first. At Silverman Law Office, Josie’s primary practice areas include estate planning, probates, guardianships, and conservatorships. Josie especially enjoys estate planning because it gives her an opportunity to get to know clients personally and assist them in navigating challenging and complicated legal situations. Josie believes that lawyers are called counselors for a reason. Lawyers usually come into people’s lives when they need guidance and practicing law allows Josie to do just that.
When Josie is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Josie enjoys camping, hiking, golfing and reading a good book by the lake. Josie is a third generation Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.) member. P.E.O. is an organization that focuses on providing educational opportunities to women worldwide.
Josie is licensed to practice law in Montana and is in the process of becoming licensed in Wyoming as well.
