Katie is an attorney with Silverman Law Office. She was raised in Valier, Montana, and has always maintained a deep connection to her home state. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Montana Western and went on to receive her Juris Doctor from Syracuse University College of Law. Her desire to serve others and give back led her to commission as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) in the United States Army.
During her military service, Katie provided legal counsel to commanders on a wide range of issues, including military justice, administrative law, operational and national security law, and cybersecurity. She supported both domestic and international operations and deployed to Afghanistan in 2019. Her time in the Army was grounded in public service, a sense of duty, and a commitment to upholding the rule of law under the most complex conditions.
After medically retiring from the Army, Katie returned home to Montana, driven by her passion for serving the people and communities that shaped her. She joined the Montana Department of Justice as a civil litigator, representing the state in high-stakes cases involving wrongful convictions, inmate litigation, and constitutional challenges.
At Silverman Law Office, Katie continues her dedication to Montana by focusing her practice on litigation involving business and contract disputes, real estate matters, and probate. She brings a mission-focused approach, shaped by her public service background, to achieving strong and practical results for her clients.
In her spare time, Katie takes full advantage of Montana’s outdoors, camping, skiing, and spending time with her four dogs. She is also a member of the USA Wheelchair Curling Team, proudly representing the country in international competitions. Katie is a passionate advocate for adaptive sports and recreational programs, working to raise awareness and increase accessibility for individuals with disabilities to engage in these life-enriching activities.
