Arika Schnur Ling has always believed that the most important things in life are positivity, kindness, and uplifting others.
She knew she wanted to pursue a career where she could best support her community but wasn’t sure what that looked like – until she took an Introduction to Law class during her first year at MSU. She discovered that through the practice of law, she could empower individuals experiencing some of their lowest lows and provide them with care and guidance at a time when they feel lost and helpless. She developed a deep passion for the protection of basic human rights, the pursuit of justice, and exploring the societal importance of law.
After college, Arika worked as a legal assistant at the Public Defender’s Office. She loved her work there and found it incredibly important for the wellbeing of her community. After two and a half years, Arika decided she wanted to explore the civil side of practicing law, and she’s very thankful to have found Silverman Law Office. She’s excited to learn all that Silverman Law has to offer and to be part of such an incredible, supportive team. She’s hoping that, from this experience, she will find where within the legal field her interests lie and ultimately decide if law school is the right path for her.
Arika has lived in Montana her whole life, which she is incredibly grateful for. In the summer, she loves to swim, paddleboard, bike, camp, do yoga, explore small towns, and spend time with her husband, Chance; their dog, Tank; two cats, Kiki and Rex; and friends. She’s currently learning to roller skate in the summer and snowboard in the winter. She also enjoys cross-country skiing and ice skating. Her favorite activity is paddleboarding with Tank.
There’s never enough time to do them all, but she cherishes every moment she gets to spend outside in this beautiful state. She’s a big believer in decompressing through activities and spending time with others, and she takes every opportunity to do so.
